This is a course for those who wish to consolidate what they have learnt on a recent GCSE course and to improve their language skills in order to explore the life and culture of German-speaking countries. Basic grammar will be reviewed and more complex elements introduced whilst exploring many aspects of German life. You will be encouraged to take part in discussions on topical issues and to express and defend your personal opinion. Learners are welcome to suggest topics or articles of interest to them. We will follow current events in Germany and Austria by accessing news broadcasts and on-line newspapers. Materials will be drawn from the press, from literature and from relevant websites.
